Q: Where can your show photography be viewed?
A: On this website on my gallery page. Any past shows are at www.findapic.co.nz/kmerry . Photos can be purchased through the website or orders can be emailed through to me.
Q: How did your business idea come about?
A: Early in 2007 I came along to a show to support a friend who was entering her horse, I started taking photos of her & then other people asked me if I was the official photographer for that day, so I asked the organisers & they allowed me to take photos for the show. So that is where it all started, and the rest is History!
Q: When was your business formed?
A: Officially in 2007, but it mainly started in 2006 when I was a photographer at Ruapuna Speedway in Christchurch, taking photos of Drifting & Track days.
Q: How has it evolved over time?
A: By meeting new people all the time at horse shows, a lot of people mention other shows coming up.
Q: What sort of camera & lenses do you use?
A: I use a medium range Digital SLR Camera, the Canon 30D, I have 2 cameras and 4 lenses for various types of Photography, but my main two and the Sigma 28 – 135mm lens and the big one the Sigma 50 – 500 Lens.
Q: Is this a full time job?
A: Yes, currently it is full time work. It did start out as a hobby but as more demand for a show photographer came in – the more of a job it became – so my career in Equestrian Photography has kicked off from there.
Q: Can you email me your photos?
A: No sorry – all photos will be on my website – only digital copies of photos that have been paid for can be emailed.
Q: When will you be putting the photos up from my show?
A: Photos can take around 7 days before they are on my website, sometimes sooner – sometimes longer – depending on how many photos I have taken per rider/class. Emails asking when photos will be up will not be responded to – please be paitent as I am working my hardest to get photos up.
Q: I cant find any photos of me from a show – where are they?
A: Sometimes I take photos but they do not work out so I am unable to put them on my website – if I miss you sorry, but I will try to take photos of you another time – just ask.
Q: You didnt take any photos of me/my ring at a show!
A: Some shows are quite big and I can only be in one place at once – I move around all day taking phtos & try to get every class. I do however take requests – if you want me to be at a class/ring at a certain time then I will try. Otherwise I just take any photos randomly of any classes.
Q: Can I see my photos on your camera at the show?
A: No sorry – you will see the photos on the website.
